The only expletive my uncle ever used was the word, “dang”. When I was nine years old, one day I said, “dang”, which was heard by a teacher. She was very over weight, white hair, and may have been Methuselah’s mother for all I know. She went ballistic and stated that if I were to use such a terrible word, I might as well say dam, as I was calling upon the Lord God, to condemn someone.
So my advice is to be careful as to what words you may use. I am sure that that teacher (61 years later), is still with us and able to straighten out the world! :)
I wonder if shucks is ok? :)
