We did some projects in Silverlight, but to tell it straight, XAML is a steep learning curve and if you are not sure of its future use it could mean a lot of wasted hours.

I watched WIndows Jumpstart about HTML5 and JavaScript + CSS using VS2012 and was quite intrigued by its possibilities. Only this approach is not cross platform, its mainly for Windows8.
