>>The point I was really trying to make was "so what". The idea was to help stop bullying - so if fools think this is just some backhanded plot to turn all of the straight Christian kids into evil flaming gays (which is of course absurd) - so what? And even if it is - so what? Perhaps NOT having your child involved in this is really just a plot to turn all Jewish kids Christian.

Yes, but that inflammatory rhetoric is entirely yours. I didn't see any "fools" saying the intention was to turn Christian kids into evil flaming gays. As you say, that's absurd. The actual complaint was that a certain organization with a particular interest in gay politics was trying to sneak social engineering in under an anti-bullying banner. That's either true or false. If true, then perhaps it doesn't matter what you do or don't think about homosexuality: perhaps what matters is that somebody has tried to use a Trojan horse against kids and their parents. You may see this as a "so what" but others may decide that trying to sneak things past is unacceptable and that Trojan Horses need to be kept outside the gates. Of course it will be a great shame if the anti-bullying horse gets left outside as a result... but whose fault would that be?

I guess I'm saying that it's easy to cast aspersions at others, especially if the labels fit in with a particular prejudice (e.g. anti-religion) but it doesn't hurt to try to look at it from the other side's perspective or even to look in the mirror occasionally.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
