>>>So far the most annoying thing I've seen on these stupid polls is when some idiot fox newscaster started talking about how these polls "don't really mean anything" - then went on to his story about their "poll of polls". Riiight - so they say none of them mean anything so therefor they're going to compile all this meaningless information into...arrrg what a bunch of morons.

>Quite true. Especially in an election where one of the candidates' teams has made it clear that they're not going to let "facts" run their campaign. That is soooo sad when they are willing to go ahead and lie because they figure they will end up with more votes from the people who believe the lies than the fallout from being caught lying.

Neither team is telling the truth. They're politicians, truth need not apply.

>To make it worse - jackasses at places like FOX news get mad when the candidate is caught lying.

To make it worse - jackasses at places like MSNBC & CNN get mad when the candidate is caught lying.

Yawn!

>For example - they were all up in arms over the debate moderators' pointing out that Romney was flat out lying - and she called him on it.

Except he wasn't, as Crowley herself admitted in an interview right after the debate.

>Then fox news goes and says "hey they're not supposed to fact check until AFTER the debate". Yes. Only tell people the facts AFTER the debate is over and no one is watching anymore!

7 c iv : The nmoderator will not ask followup questions or comment on either the questions asked by the audience or the answers of the candidates during the debate or otherwise intervene in the debate ...

Just because neither candidate can seem to follow the agreed upon rules does not give the moderater carte blanche to break them as well.

>It's crap like this that has put me in the "unbelievably quite" mode I guess - it just upsets me too much to even think about it.

This is the stuff that makes me laugh. The emperor has no clothes and his surrogates, in the campaign, the media, whathaveyou, are pulling out all the stops to get him across the finish line before the whole thing implodes. The ship is leaking like the Titanic, not because of a lack of effort or a lack of "fact" checking, or a lack of truth or a lack of communication but simply because the President's record on THE thing that matters most is worse than pathetic. There is no reason to believe that another 4 years will be any better and there is every reason to believe that he will make things worse.

One thing is certain at this point, the Republicans are going to maintain the House. That alone means that nothing of significance will happen if Obama is re-elected as he has proven his inability to do one of his signature campaign points from 2008, being able to "reach accross the aisle". He doesn't reach with an open hand but rather a closed fist. For reference, see the sausage making process of PPACA.
