>You know I have always been up for a political food fight but this election has taken the desire out of me. It has been so nasty, and people's opinions are so entrenched, there really doesn't seem to be much point.

Living in a (supposedly) swing state, this election is much worse than any I can recall. It is amazing how different the political ads are in each state - depending on the polls. The ads are really crazy in swing states and studies show both sides are misleading and often downright wrong. On top of that (see my other message here), I have been force fed information as my daughter researches the candidates and their position on the issues. I am happy that she is truly researching before she votes, however, it makes me less than enthusiastic about discussing politics on top of all that. Enough already! :) I'm sure you are experiencing the same :)

I say supposedly, because although polls now show NC leaning to the Republican side, unless some huge blunder occurs (and it would have to be so huge as to sway even diehards), I think that Obama will take NC, Colorado, Nevada, Iowa, and Wisconsin on November 6th. The popular vote may go the other way some of those states, but the electoral will go Obama.
