>Just as a point of clarification, I think both Obama's disciples and the Neocon Hawk Right are choosing to be ignorant of Obama's actual national security policies and the record ( each for their own, very different, reasons.)

I don't see myself as a disciple of Obama, if that was meant above.
Being mostly agnostic eliminates me from the extremes of the other camp: if there is no anti-christ, Obama cannot be him.
This election for me is numbers game - from expected rise in stock market to poll predictions and the electoral system results.
In the next half dozen years inner-EU workings will be much more influential for me, work- and moneywise.
Still seeing myself in some issues/views thinking along US lines and in some more european.

>The key players are John Brennan - deputy NSA and Gen James Cartright as well as some folks off the books. Obama is very much involved in the planning and approval of an extremely effective - and incredibly ruthless - targeted killing program that as a candidate he would have exploited shamelessly as political fodder ( and did in similar cases in 2008 ) throwing red meat to his base had it been the work of Bush or Cheney.

see my reference to "droning on the Taliban" ;-) I am aware that more is involved than flying those things via joystick.
Having a program in place to search for Osama does not neccessarily lead to finding him, as Bush jun. will attest -
but the executed plan after he was found showed better results than Carter's Iran attempt, even if both left helicopters on foreign ground ;-)

>Obama is not what he appears to be in so many ways - and that is definitely both to his credit and his discredit. Like most people, he's very complex. Both his followers and his harshest critics are much more ... simple.

Well, I see myself in capabilities somewhere between him and Homer Simpson,
neither as a follower nor harsh critic - and with no button in reach altering the behaviour of piles of uran/plutonium.
And compared to Bush jun. I think Obama is a much better prez.

>He is perhaps the most cynical opportunist to be President since Richard Nixon ( though if Romney wins he could take a shot at the title. )

Not enough data here to build assumptions on such dimensions,
but Mitt's boasting on being able to create jobs like Athena from Zeus head sounded strange to me -
even more if reducing debt and not raising more taxes. But I am no politician...
