Why not use SQL Server Reporting Services?

>Since SAP has not released a version of Crystal Reports that's compatible with VS2012, I spent some time learning the basics of the VS2012 Report Writer.
>After developing a few basic tabular reports - the kind we usually do for our clients - I think that I actually prefer it to CR. The docs aren't that good, unfortunately, but after a while I found I could knock out simple reports more quickly with the VS Report Writer than with I can with CR, and I've been using CR for decades.

>One thing annoys me with the VS Report Writer - I can't see how to format multiple objects, as one can with CR. That's a pain.

>An interesting wrinkle is that the .rdlc, which contains the report definition, is XML, and at least some of it is not compiled into the .exe, so it's somewhat like the .frx, which allowed for manipulation during run time.
>Has anyone done much of that? What limits are there?
>
>It also seems to me that it would be easier to deploy, since it doesn't require the CR dlls, etc.
>
>Does anyone have any thoughts on that?
