>On the Universal Thread, at first, we implemented a thread watch functionality. The terminology "watch" was also used or has been also used elsewhere on the net for the same functionality. Twitter came in and decided to use the "follow" terminology to represent about the same global concept. We are about to implement a feature like that in an application. I am wondering about the new standard for such feature as far as its terminology recognition. Is "follow" pretty much what we should use now?

On StackOverflow, they use a Star icon to mark a question, and if you mouse over the Star, the tooltip says "This is a favorite question". I think they mean, "Mark this as one of My favorite" questions.

Also, on GitHub, you "Star" a repo that you want to follow.

So, these are developer resources, and may not be suitable concepts for your application. Just wanted to share them as two other possible choices.
