I am sure there are many disappointed fans of the Tigers but as a story the Giants are hard to resist. They had to win three straight elimination games against the Reds, then the same thing against the Cardinals. By that time there was almost a sense of inevitability to them. One thing I liked was that they remained loose even when the stakes were highest. It was the Tigers who looked and played tight.

It was a sensational postseason for baseball even if the World Series itself was a blowout.
