PMFJI, perhaps I am overreacting to the quoted statement, but you do not have to set a field in a view in order to set THAT SAME field to updateable. But yes, as Nick said, you do have to have _a_ key field for the table that you are updating fields in. The reason, as it's been explained to me, is how does the view know which record to update if it doesn't know what its key field is.
