There's no good reasons for ever "recalling" deleted records, deleted records should be treated as if they are gone forever, as they are in "real" SQL. My personal favorite with VFP tables, is to add a logical field which I call Reusable. Instead of deleting records, I replace reusable with .T.
On one project where I cooperated with Steven Black, we had a table where record had expiration time, which was about an hour or two (yes, web stuff). The datetime field was called something like "expires", and if you found a record where expires < datetime(), it was reusable.
