>>>Don't know whether you're using paper ballots or a voting machine. I haven't heard of a single US voting machine that hasn't been shown to be vulnerable to pretty basic hacks.

>>>As Dragan once said, you don't have to win the vote, just the count :(

>>I was a little surprised when I voted this morning that the ballot was old fashioned. Very black pencil, ovals to fill in . I had to prove my identity twice to even get to that point. The only machine in evidence was the tabulator where you fed your ballot on your way out. (Undoubtedly corrupt, channeling Dragan <g>).

>My daughter and I showed up to an empty voting facility because the power had gone out (turns out it was out at multiple voting sites). No batteries or generators. On election day you can only vote at your designated site so we had no choice but to try again later. I called Guilford County Board of Elections to notify them and they informed that was impossible. Power was not out anywhere and all machines had battery backups and generators so I could vote regardless. I informed them that I had just left the voting site and no, no-one was able to vote. I saw the dead machines myself. Still, they insisted I was wrong. So I called the tv news. Lo and behold suddenly the County Elections folks were headed out to the 7 voting locations without power to provide batteries--no paper ballots only electronic. Soon only two could not vote and that was remedied as well with batteries. I returned a couple of hours later and voted in the dark with a battery backup running 3 of the 5 machines. Power just returned a few minutes ago. And yes, my machine messed up but according to my daughter, hers worked fine.

What a great tribute to your persistence. And what a great memory for your daughter of her first Presidential vote. I still like it that she did so much research. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree ;-)
