And to make it even annoying, I really like Flash and how it performs when it works correctly.

Is there a substitue for Flash that you know of (that could work where Flash is required)? If there is, I am not aware of it.

>>I can't think of any right off my head - but it has gotton so bad in my situation I always now select Custom install on everything just to see what is hidden behind that. One thing they are real bad about doing is changing the home page....grrrrrrr. This has to be a sales click of some sort for sure.

>>One other ANNOYING thing Adobe is now doing is this. That dialog you got today when installing Flash, you might not get it next time. They switch back and forth between that one and the old one. This is a real pain, as my wife is not a great computer user and in the past I always told her to just install Flash when it came up. Now, we have to look at it each time.

>Adobe is at the top of my S-list. Their installs do all kinds of dealing from deep down in the deck. Recently one of their "friendly" auto updates hosed my system to the point that I could not hear any sound in internet browsers (Firefox, IE). I scrubbed the registry but that was only a temporary fix. The no sound issue kept coming back like the villain in a horror movie. By the time it was over I had to buy a new sound card. And that wasn't even all. The sound card only fit in the bottom slot, which made it hard to switch between the external speakers and headphones, even if the exercise may have been good for my abs. So there went another $7 for an extension cord to the green audio port. I hate Adobe.
