I'm 100% sure it isn't the product. It could be a bad download or issues with other software installed on your system.
So, let's go through a few things:
- What OS? (Win 7? Win 8?) (32 vs. 64) (Home vs. Pro)
- What else is running at the time? (AV) (SQL) (are drivers up to date)
- Did you install Web Developer Express?
- What web server? (IIS?) (IIS Express?)
