Shift+Click

>I have IE in the taskbar. It allows me to click on it so it would then appear in the bottom of the Windows desktop. As oppose to earlier OS, when clicking on an icon in the tray now makes that icon disappear. In the case of IE, I would like to keep the flexibility of being able to click on it multiple times to open new browsers. Right now, once the first instance of the browser is launched, I have to launch other instances of IE from an already running instance by doing Ctrl+N. As anyone found a way to have the previous OS flexibility to having the icon to remain in the taskbar in such circumstance?
