I have a table that stores data for years.

I know how to query the data to get totals, averages, etc for individual years. I even understand how to query for specific months in each years.

I am wondering what is the best way to compare data year to year? ie look for trends.

I mean like 1999, 2000, give the totals, averages etc, so I can see the net change from year to year. (I know how to convert it to a percent.)

What I need is some helpful ideas.
