Once again, thank you, Sergey, that seems to be a good alternative.
I have since realized that the issue was not the updated Novell Client or Windows 7. The issue was that the new default user level used is "Standard User" which disallows a date/time change by that account. So the ball is back in the court of the decision makers with several options:
Up the level to the present one (It is a completely locked down image and so it does not matter)
Modify the group rights to allow date/time changes
Possibly launch the app with "Run as administrator
