Desktop? I don't understand why people always use the desktop. It gets so cluttered you can't find anything and you have to minimize everything to get to them. Very inefficient.
But, I think what's happened is the shortcuts for the file extensions has been set to VS2012. When Windows looks up the icon, it finds the new ones.
