The license is Apache. But I'd have to admit the lead developers are from HP. The combination of enyo, backbone, and node.js looks very inviting. Almost everything can be considered OOP and all using Google's V8 engine. Those things sound like working with generally accepted standards.
I don't like the idea of working with multi-languages HTML, CSS , javascript, some sort of middle like python, perl, and a web server. I was kind of hoping that dart or go would solve much of the multi-language issue but after a year there is very little movement with those languages. So if javascript is going to be the language for the near future then why not use it for all the layers. Node eliminates web server, backbone provides the model, and enyo the UI.
