Yesterday I was watching Chris Matthews interview Charlie Crist on MSNBC. Crist kept saying he was an Independent, and Matthews insisted he was now a Democrat. This back and forth kept up for some time and finally Crist admitted he was a Democrat, insisting that “all moderate Republicans should be Democrats”!
My take is that Crist is not happy with the direction of the Republican party and wants to hold elected office. Seeing the way people voted a few weeks ago requires planning for your future, if you want to hold public office. Surely everyone will forget the way Crist has voted in the past, and his accomplishments. It is a new world and a new beginning. :)
Politics makes strange bedfellows and all that.
