I also only buy Lenovo T-series notebooks now - the reliabilty and configurability is well worth the price premium for me. I have no personal experience of Lenovo models other than the T series. Family members are still using a 6 year old T series note book that I replaced 3 years ago. The T series have an integrated Led light at the top of the screen that works well in low light conditions.

I am a consulting software developer and do all my work on my notebook. I have had Dell, Hp and Sony notebooks in the past and all have let me down. Can't comment on ASUS as I don't know anyone that has owned one.
