Back in 2009 and 2010 ASUS was the most reliable:

http://bitsonline.org/news/111-asus-leads-in-laptop-reliability-beats-all-other-competitors-

since then, they've dropped to number 6. However I use an HP EliteBook 8440p (work - replaced a Dell that was also very reliable ) and an ASUS G60Jx (home) and both have been very reliable. I use VS2012 with many addons, VFP 9, SqlServer, and too many other things to mention on a daily basis.

>Hi Mike, I don't think I'll be going the Asus route - my year old Asus tablet ( lovely to use and all that BUT ! it's falling to bits ) I'm leaning towards Dell or Fujitsu at the moment - I'm not in a rush

>>Seconded re Asus. My last desktop purchase was an Asus because of the low price. When you look inside you see why it's cheap. Very junky. Maybe their laptops are higher quality but I wouldn't bet on it.

>>>Thanks Thomas, not sure about build quality with Asus, I have one of their tablets and a year down the road things are starting to rattle and creak but Fujitsu sounds appealing as I've only ever had a camera from them ( which was good )
