Update ... Got the network back at home. If you install NT4.0 server this is how I finally got it to work. Make sure you have the drivers for your network card and CD Rom on a floppy, then do a winnt /b install. If it finds everything great, if not you've got the drivers handy.
Focus .... what's that? Things are moving so fast and there is so much to assimilate it's really hard to keep any sense of focus. Must remember to do one thing at a time.
