I have been using his SDT for a good number of years and works Very Well! However, it works only on VFP database. Now I am converting my customers to SQL Server database and the meta data created with SDT won't help me. So I will need to build new meta data dictionary.

>There is no question you will have time in that. I already use Doug's SDT and in my thinking it takes some serious thought to set it up right, name fields with easy names they will see, etc., etc., etc. I believe doug said last night that "if" I was already using SDT it puts you ahead of the game somewhat, but I suspect there is a lot more to it that still has to be done.

>>Besides the cost I have to consider my time investment into this (aside from buying the SDK which is not insignificant for me). You see, in order to sell the SQ end user product I have to invest my time in building the Meta Data Dictionary. And while doing that I will have to (I suspect) to make some changes to my database since it is not perfect (understatement <g>). And I am already over my head with work and learning new stuff (like HTML5, JS, and so on). As I believe the joke goes "I am so behind in everything, I am afraid I will never die."

To be honest I don't look at the Stonefield Query as a way to increase my company profit, but rather give customers better tools. If they are happy they will recommend my product to other customers and that is where I will end up benefiting. But I want to be sure that if I offer my customers this tool, I will give them a total picture of cost now, and in the future.
