When I first heard it, I felt like I'd been sucker punched. I have a t-shirt from a couple of years ago that says "In Gary we trust". I was ready to burn it. Andersen has been saying for weeks that he's staying at USU, but when he said that the Wisconsin job wasn't available. It's a tremendous opportunity for him and the reported triple pay increase certainly helps.He's getting $700K/yr at USU. Wisc reported offered $2 million/year.

Current Offensive Coordinator Matt Wells is interested and reportedly has put together a potential coaching staff already. He'd be my first choice as it keeps continuity in the program. Other names that have come up are Utah Defensive Coordinator Kalani Stake. San Jose St. assistant and USU alum (and home town boy) Kent Baer has been rumored as a possibility, but he's 61 so you don't have potential for the long-term. Press is saying USU AD has interest in the current coach at Eastern Washington.

Reading tweets from USU players, they've gone from "what a downer" to "We're still Aggies" after getting a personal phone call from Coach A. Gary has a son on the USU team now and twin sons that have committed for next year, so he is passing up the opportunity to coach his own kids.
