This is the one of the incredibly rare times that William and I agree on something.

I would liken it more to "You just rolled a natural 20 on your 'too stupid to breathe' check"

Let's take someone who thinks it is perfectly alright to drive 80mph in a driving rainstorm. They've always done ok before...except for that one time they roll that 20 and they die in an accident, hopefully without taking anyone else with them. Was it incredibly stupid to be doing 80 in a driving rainstorm? Oh hell yeah. So, would you say the penalty for that stupidity is death? That person chose to operate the vehicle like that under those conditions.

Similarly, someone chose to enter William's (or mine, for that matter) uninvited and with bad intentions. I will at least give them the warning noise of me racking a round in the chamber, then if the choose to remain in my house after that point they've just proven to the universe that they're too stupid to breathe. And yes, I will always take the 'c' option. If I pull it, I will shoot it. If I shoot it, I'm gonna kill it. May not always work out that way, but that would be my intention, yes.
