So make it a problem.

I don't think many people are advocating a general ban of guns. It's never going to happen in this country. What I would like to see, and which I think is do-able, is a ban on semi-automatic / assault weapons. What earthly reason is there for citizens to have those? Of course, the NRA is not giving an inch. They never do. In fact Mr. LaPierre seems to view the Connecticut massacre as a growth opportunity. Two chickens in every pot, a gun in every school. That would last about as long as it took some student to get his hands on one of those guns.

That's as much as I am going to say. I am trying to stay out of debates over explosive issues like gun control. Sort of a New Year's resolution.
