I took screenshots from both and brought them into GIMP and ovelaid them to align the "A" characters. They were of the exact same position (both "A" characters being of the same position). I see the textbox border in Firefox as being one pixel larger than the border in IE, which makes the "A" above it then appear to be one pixel closer to the textbox. But if you take screenshots, clip down to that area, and overlay both images you'll see the "A" characters align properly on right-and-left sides on both.
