Which is why I just love it when I find a good product where nearly no budget was (in)appropriated for advertising - so I know I'm not paying for that waste.
My (wife's) finding of the year is
http://store.wildginger.com/ - all the advertising they needed was 1) they were googlable by product type, 2) had a good demo version to try out. And the chief manager, CEO, CTO & ETC is the main programmer. I guess it's an one-lady-shop, no corporate bullshit, 2M$ budget for drafting policy documents and other expensive blah blah. And it works great - the garments sewn fit "kao salivene" (as if poured on, or as if from a custom mold)... so I guess there's someone with the surname Sullivan (saliven) in there.
