In most all cases, videos work better for me when learning something new. Once I have the system down though, a text form is better because then I more or less know what to search for to bring back up the reference.

I have a form of dyslexia. It makes it very difficult for me to read a lot of text (anything more than a sentence or two actually). I have to really, really concentrate to understand what I'm reading. I have developed a work-around for this though... I have a DS-30 handheld digital recorder. I speak aloud what I'm reading into the recorder, and then play it back and listen to it. My comprehension is much better when listening. When I read it's very low at times.

I also have a text-to-speech converter I use for reading large blocks. I copy-and-paste, and then it reads them aloud to me for better comprehension.
