Touch will still be in Win8, it just won't work. But if you get touch screens, they'll work.

FYI, I catch myself from time to time trying to use touch on my non-touch screens. It's really become a great way to work. I suspect it will get worse once I get my Surface Pro.

IAC I have two very nice monitors which I do not want to replace. Also, I do not see touch capability being useful, or even supported, in the desktop apps I use. Also, I don't want fingerprints all over my screens ;-)
