Can you explain what you mean by, "I would not use cursor keys as it locks the user into the control"?

If you are referring to the fact that the cursor keys won't let the user move out of the control then I say, "Use the Windows standard and TAB to next/previous controls".

>You're dreaming. But you can easily add the functionality yourself. Years ago I created a datebox that used +/- to increase/decrease the day, M/m to go forward/backwards a month, Y/y, D/d to do the same thing for year/day. T or t to set date to Today. F or f for first day of month. L or l for last day of month. I would not use cursor keys as it locks the user into the control.

>>If I'm not mistaken, I believe that a VFP textbox bound to a date field had some built in smarts that would let end users edit the date value by using the up/down arrow keys (and perhaps pageup/pagedn too). The month/day/year portions of the date would be automatically highlighted/selected and simply by pressing the up/down arrow keys, the highlighted value would increase/decrease by 1.
