Actually, it should be khorendous kheresy - prefixing it with a k is the only way to make sure aitch is pronounced (unless it's in a transcript of a slavic name, where you misunderstand the intention and read the k while omitting the poor aitch, so Khrushchev becomes kroo-shev instead of hroosh-chov; for the e-o controversy blame the Russians themselves for always omitting the diaeresis).
Now count the number of aitches who serve as shoeshine boys - all those in th, ch, ph, sh, tch... they never get their own voice heard. Some democracy, eh?
