>>Funny that you should say that, Rick ;-)

>My foundation comes from a two-thousand year old base philosophy, a doctrine for the entirety of life and of living. It is a teaching wrought entirely in love through a plan put into action before time began with the culmination being an immense sacrifice by God Himself to save His creation from the ramifications of sin, and death. All the while, He continually provides everything for everybody (the sun, Earth, water, air, life in plants and animals, our lives, everything).

>It is a history dating back six-thousand years to the very creation of the world, one intermixed repeatedly with God-sent prophets foretelling the future, miracle acts, a call to all men to follow after God and not the ways of this world. He brings with Him a promise to all who will come to Him seeking the truth that they will be saved in eternity. His promise is valid because He is who He is.

>He is not like men, but is truly God Almighty. The Bible calls Him "Holy, Holy, Holy" for a reason. He is separate and distinct.

>Compare that to Microsoft, a decades-old corporation which, through monopoly practices, seeks money as its object. It moves in only one (or at most a few) area(s) of our lives, and extracts from us (money) as it gives to us (software, services). We must pay Microsoft for what we get from them, and even in their charity they still take because they boast about it, report it on their taxes, etc. There is no giving there, it is only use.

>I can tell you with certainty that Jesus is not of this world, and that His calling is not like other callings, and that the lives we give to Him are not sacrifices, but through our obedience to Him we walk as He calls. We do this because of who He is, and because there is life there. Jesus is life. It is that simple.

I fully respect your belief, and even envy it, but I wish you would stop saying things like "it is that simple." IMO there is no question higher on the cosmic scale than whether there is a god and what his (or her, or its) intentions are. You say you found it in 2004. I am happy for you, sincerely. It's just that the certainty of your posts on this topic is coming across as a little, well, preachy. Pious. I like your technical posts and hope you don't continue to drive people away unnecessarily. As was said way back in the conversation, this is a discussion for a different thread. Please feel free to start one. That way we can discuss it honestly without feeling assaulted by an agenda.
