For all people the "end times" will come in one of two ways: (1) their death, (2) the return of Jesus. It is coming for all, and none of us know when. Jesus gave us the teachings, the warnings, to let us know that while it is still called today, while we still have the chance, we should receive His call if we can hear it.

Old Testament prophets foretold of it (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Zechariah, Ezekiel, Daniel, amongst others). Jesus was asked directly about it and taught on it (Matthew 24). He also warned to try very hard not to be fooled. The book of Revelation was written to convey it (written at a time, written for future generations), along with the punishment God will dole out here upon the people of the Earth.

There is no fascination. He's warned us. It is coming. He's warned us. That is all.

What kind of person would I be if I didn't warn of that which He's foretold, knowing that it will come true in the proper time? Every Christian has this responsibility, to go out and tell everybody that each person may have the chance to hear, and that we (who go out and do this for The Lord) will bring honor to His Holy name.
