The last real winter (IIRC) was back in '87. Didn't get a vehicle out for almost two weeks. This isn't much by comparison (about 3" with drifting) but enough to bring almost everything to a standstill in this part of the world - no snow ploughs and no gritting on minor roads. Just see the odd 4WD even on the main roads. I spent part of the morning freezing my ****s off foddering horses about 1/2 mile from home. Nice to be back in front of a warm LCD :-}
