I have seen cases where a video driver could not properly handle starting a DOS program in full-screen mode. The workaround is to start it in a window, then press Alt-Enter to switch to full screen mode after the program has started.

Hmm, too bad it didn't work. From what I've read Win7 Starter 32-bit should be able to run DOS apps. But there are lots of recommendations to use DOSBox, as Dragan suggested.

Maybe if you feel nostalgic for you Clipper app, you could give it a try :)
