We do have our own way of spelling and talking! :)

For 15 years I worked at AMPEX Corporation (audio and video tape recorders, etc.) in Redwood City, California. We had a member of management who was from Belgium, and his name was Noel DeBots. Noel was asked how he became an employee at AMPEX. He told us that the recruiter came to Belgium and interviewed 5 prospective engineers. Then he said, “I was the only one who could speak English”! I loved that answer!
