>>This is a European company and their marketing style will be different from North American marketing styles or elsewhere in the world. They have been around 20+ years, have over 120,000 current developers worldwide

>And yet, when you search for "Windev" on Amazon, not a single textbook in the English language, for any version, is listed.
Yes, you're right I don't think there are any 3rd party text-books on it. For a user base of 120,000+ developers there would be little financial motivation for an author to write a book since only a fraction would buy it.
Having said that I am not sure what a book would teach or give you?
- The WinDev language? - Totally covered in their help system and is similar to VFP in many respects.
- Application design? - You will find numerous books.
- Database design? - Numerous books.
- SQL - Numerous books.
- Using .Net, PHP, Java, Ajax, HTML, etc.? - Numerous books.
- 3 tier design? - Numerous books
- OOP - Numerous books....
....etc.....
There are events held in different countries, there is very extensive help files including on-line (
http://doc.windev.com/en-US/ ), some forums, 3rd party consultants, dev-cons, free support, paid support plans, etc. Here is a US based firm offering quite extensive on-line training and e-book -
http://www.sdcdev.net/ - they are apparently very good.
