>>I seem full of recommendations and questions lately. This time I won't gas on and on about it, although I easily could. I am about to watch "Million Dollar Baby" for about the 10th time. IMO it is the best American movie of the past 10 years. Just watch it and enjoy.

We do disagree. I was fine with "Gran Torino" even if it wasn't one of his best. I was also fine with the ending of "Million Dollar Baby." Given the story up to that point I'm not sure where else it could have gone. The one part I can't stand, and skipped over last night, was the fight with the Blue Bear. (An actual professional boxer).
One of my favorite moments in MDB is the one where a trainer who is a rival to Clint Eastwood's character comes up to her in a diner and wants to sign her up. She says I'm happy with the trainer I've got. Morgan Freeman in voiceover: "Maggie always did like to put them down in the first round."
More dialogue from the movie ---
Maggie to Frankie: "Will you train me, boss?" Frankie: "I don't train girls. And don't call me boss."
Scrap-Iron (Morgan Freeman) in voiceover: "The only thing Maggie knew about herself growing up was she was trash."
Maggie working as a waitress and cadging a customer's leftover steak for her dinner.
Scrap-Iron: "She's getting better." Frankie: "Yeah. It's almost like someone's been teaching her."
