WinDev Reverse Modeling

When you are working on a function, procedure, whatever, you can get a diagram of either (1) what other processes are calling this function and/or (2) what functions and procedures this function calls. So for example, I created a simple procedure and asked for the diagram map of who and how this function gets called in my application – see screencap 1. And similarly I asked for a map of what functions or procedures this function is calling – see screencap 2.

These models have various display options that you can set when you create them and WinDev conveniently allows you to then save those models so you can re-run them in future without having to reset all your preferences. This is especially useful since you can modify the layout of the boxes and joining lines by simply dragging them to a new location or adjusting the lines as desired. So the model diagram is fully customizable.

My example is only a simple one but you can see how this would become useful in complex routines and functions.
