Take a look at your Windows System and Application Event Logs, see if they recorded any errors around the times you saw these problems.
If you're using antivirus, see if you can exclude your dev and temp file folders from real-time scanning. One simple test might be to temporarily disable all real-time scanning to see if the problem persists.
