As far as I see it right now. .NET is a perfect language to build tools, small applications. But it is at present not the application platform of the future. I see more in application development platforms that take away certain headaches that have to do with cross platform, security, intergration of internet services (like email, text messaging, ftp, web services) un a uniform way (not leave the developer to write their own crappy solutions to choose from). I like to take a step forward and concertate on the real meat of the application rather than all trivial stuff that should be provided by the framework.
