It's dev mode and runtime on the same Win 8 machine. If it can't find the license file, you get a different error. Anyway, I bit the bullet and bought the latest suite from www.dbi-tech.com , so I'll have to rebuild from scratch anyway. There's a bunch of other stuff I have to do in my app, like upsize the VFP DB to MySQL. Don't have a clue about that. Any ideas?
