I am running my application and some of my forms take so long to load (some of them take 50 seconds). I trace them and I found that the 90% of the load-time is when the forms open the views (with NODATA).

The forms are using remote views to access information in a SQL Server 6.5 database over a telephone line.

The forms are sending "SET FMTONLY my_select_statement" to the server and this is consuming too much time when the form have many views (about 10 views).

The views created in the server do NOT have any records. Why is this so slow?

Is there any way that I can improve the load-time of my forms?
