Please help me understand or confirm my understanding on how the following works.

If my VFP 9 application connects to the SQL Server via DSN-less ODBC connection, does it matter that the computer/server has System DSN created? My understand was that the application would have to use this DSN file; otherwise (I think) it does not matter for DSN-less connection of DSN has been created or not.
