I wish I could help but I haven't made much money for a while.

I would download Android SDK and Eclipse (or IntelliJ) and bang out some kind of app for fun in a week.

Mobile developer jobs in Seattle start around $110K+ compared to network administrator ($90K) and desktop or web software engineers ($75K).
