Totally agreed about officials nit-picking a game to death. There is a passage that all AYSO soccer referees are taught about not ruining a match with trifling calls. However, if there is a clear infraction of the rules it needs to be called. There were a number of those. One example was a late hit on Joe Flacco when he was out of bounds late in the game. No call. (I was cheering for the 49ers so am not screaming about "we wuz robbed"). There were any number of dubious non-calls on pass plays, in both directions. If you take "just let them play" to its logical extension pretty soon you have Rollerball out there.

Maybe this discussion will pick up some steam if we move on to what's really important: the commercials ;-) As always, there were some stinkers and some really good ones.
