Hi,

I'm struggling to create a 1 o Many report using the Report Builder.

I need to print an invoice with multiple line items in a fixed size. The paper being used is letter sized with a perforation halfway down the page so the customer copy prints on the top half and the office copy on the bottom half of the page.

I have tried two ways so far:

1. Built up all the data into one Dataset and then grouped by Copy within Invoice. This displays the correct data, but I don't know how to set it up to ensure one copy fills up half the page.

2. Created two reports, one with the Invoice data and another with the Invoice Line Items. I set it up so that the Line Items report is a subreport of the invoice report, but I get an error: "Data retrieval failed for the subreport". I have set the parameter for the subreport, but I can't see what is causing this error.

So I have some questions:

1. Which way is the better way to achieve this.

2. Whichever way is the best, how to solve my problem with each technique?

Update

I've got it working by using the single dataset and single report (no subreport). In order to achieve the fixed height I have placed a rectangle in the copy group and set it to the needed height. So far it looks like it's working but I am open to any better suggestions.
Frank.
