>A client has been running a VFP9 program with no problem for over a year on a Windows 7 machine. Then starting last Saturday, it stopped working. He double clicks the icon and nothing happens. I had him uninstall the FoxPro runtime library and then when we tried to run the program we got the error "Cannot find Visual FoxPro library" as expected. But when we reinstalled and tried the program again nothing, no program, no error.

Sounds like you might be missing a config.fpw file and/or your VFP runtime files got clobbered somehow.
You can copy the VFP .dll's to the same folder as your compiled .exe If your app uses a config.fpw file then be sure to copy it back too.
